Every year, the world celebrates International Day of Yoga, an ancient practice originating in ancient India. As a physical, mental, and spiritual practice, Yoga has a broad range of benefits and is celebrated across the globe. The United Nations General Assembly created the day in 2014.
‘Connect with Youth’
The 7th International Day of Yoga is a unique opportunity to bring Yoga to the public, and to celebrate its importance. The event can be celebrated at a large scale, or more intimately. If you’d like to connect with the youth, try using digital and electronic platforms to promote Yoga. The goal is to get as many people as possible involved in Yoga, and to help them understand its benefits.
‘Yoga for Wellness’

70 years of Indo-Indonesia relations
India and Indonesia have been partners for over 70 years. The first country to recognize Indonesia’s independence, India also established the International Day of Yoga. The country also facilitated direct flights between the two countries and began the process of reunifying its diplomatic missions. This year, the two countries also celebrated 70 years of bilateral ties. The celebrations in India include yoga workshops, cultural events and festivals, and a joint exhibition.
